What is Free Entitlement?

Free Entitlement (FE) funding is provided by the government. The funding offers a free place with childcare providers (childminders, nursery or pre-school), allowing all children between the ages of 3 and 4 (and 40% of 2 year olds) to have access to good quality early years care and education. All 3 year olds and some 2 year olds are eligible for up to 15 hours free childcare per week, (term time only). As of September 2017 working parents may also be eligible for a further 15 hours (30 hours free).
